Self-Proclaimed Internet Business King, 20 year old David King, @DavidBeKing on Twitter has announced a contest to promote the release of his new traffic building system,  Traffic on Demand, TOD. To promote his new product launch he is giving away 3 copies of the full version of his Traffic on Demand System. To enter the contest you need to answer 2 questions in the comments section of his blog (see the blog post for the questions) and share the contest on your blog, Twitter, Facebook and/or preferred social network. Hence why I am writing this blog post. If I didn’t love this kid and chat with him all the time on Twitter, I would not be going through all these changes ;-)  Having worked with him in his teen years (he turned 20 this summer) and knowing all the support and advice he gives to many of the teens in the Renegades network I would certainly support him regardless of whether or not a contest was being offered.

He is looking for any type of promotional support for his program. Bonus points if you create a video in You Tube. I would definitely like to see one or more of my teen Renegade CEO’s win a copy of the Traffic On Demand System. For those interested in the contest you can check out the details on his blog (http://retwt.me/jvqu)

Regardless if you decide to enter the contest, you should definitely connect with him on Twitter @DavidBeKing

Good luck to everyone who participates in the contest. And be sure to let us know if you win so that we can feature you on the Renegades blog, which is now ranked in the Top 300k in the U.S. Whooop! As always, appreciate your continued support.

Learning to Fall by Bryce Maddock, Founder of Task US

In yoga, one position I can’t master is the handstand. Every week I am put to shame by the 50 and 60 year old yogis who effortlessly toss themselves in and out of the position. Last class, as my frustration surged, I took it upon myself to ask one of the handstand masters, “How did you learn to do that?”

“I learned how to fall,” she responded.

This lesson applies to business and life: In order to truly succeed one must be willing to fall. We all know people who are too afraid to fall. Unwilling to take risks, they never get off the couch, never pursue the guy/girl they are attracted to, never escape their mind numbing 9 to 5 job.

If you are an entrepreneur you have already demonstrated a willingness to take a big risk. However, simply being willing to fall is not enough. Ultimately it is a numbers game. The more risks you take, the more you increase your chances of success, but the more falls you have to be willing to take as well.

This is why the most successful entrepreneurs have fallen many times. Russell Simmons launched the now defunct website 360 Degrees of Hip Hop. Richard Branson was forced to sell off his prized possession, Virgin Records. The Donald has lost fortunes on multiple ventures, and even went bankrupt.

It’s a New Year, whew hew! Out with the OLD and in with the YOU! Huh, huh, “you teen CEO know it alls” is that what it’s all about in the year of change? :) I am sooo going to be more sensitive and compassionate this year [brouhaha, evil grin > :-D ].

Let me be the first to remind you that I strongly and truly believe that teens don’t need to be helped but they want to be empowered.  The teens I have worked with didn’t need for me to hold their hand. They just wanted me to show them how to leverage resources (people, places and things) so they could get their wee bitty little but very awesome & powerful idea branded and marketed to people who would LOVE IT and help it grow bigger!

I cold-call and market several days a week. I do it to help create media exposure, speaking and business opportunities for the teens who seek me out for help. I would say I am generally successful with this.  And the reason why is because it’s much easier and less stressful to get your name out there and people on board when you are building on something you already have established and in motion.

(Note: This is Part 2 of 2 from our innerview 2 days ago….sorry we were having “technical” difficulties yesterday).

Here is Part 1 if you missed it: “Part 1″

In Part II of his INNERview, we ask Teen CEO “Nashy” of ClastaZ.com questions that inquiring minds want to know :) . These questions were asked by our Renegades Community and Teen Biz Coach “Shonika Proctor”.  Hope everyone will find this useful as you continue to push forward with your own entrepreneurial pursuits:

1. You said you have been online since the age of 12…at what age did you start your first business and what was it?

Yea, that is right I have actually been active online since I was 12 either just browsing to find ways to make money, or attempting to create my own site. Looking back I don’t think you can call my first site a business, it was a free site I set up on freewebs! The only thing I paid for was the name: www.rediz.com. It was a shopping portal that simply displayed a lot of different sites selling numerous things. I was an affiliate of all of them, so was paid on click thru and also commission if a user went on to buy a product. It actually worked out well to start with but eventually traffic slowed down and commercially it turned out to be a failure. Having said that, I was so young at the time the money it made me felt like a lot and I learned some really valuable experience on the way.

(Note: This is Part 1 of 2 of the INNERVIEW)

And here is Part 2 if you were looking for that (you’re welcome ;-) )

With his love of music, boyishly good looks and charming ways you’d think that UK teen Ed “Nashy” Nash was bringing back The British Invasion with a modern twist. But in fact, he’s soaring up the charts in a slightly different kind of way- as a successful teen entrepreneur with his latest social media venture www.ClastaZ.com a music discovery site which is used to find new music and dig up the old.

It’s one thing to get writer’s block, but it’s a whole nutha thang to get writer’s block when you are a blogger, social networking or online ‘information’ marketing guru and need to regularly produce new, fresh and original content.  First challenge is you have to keep your current readership interested. You have taken so long to build your list and a community among them so you know what they like and feel but also you have to be able to recruit new readers. So what’s a burned out writer to do? I mean really, how many optimized keywords can you re-optimize and re-package? Well it seems that Social Media Marketing Guru, Chris Brogan, is right on time with his recent post entitled ” Set Your Blog on Fire”…. Fantastic ideas on how to keep your topics spicy and I think that contrary to the word ‘blog’ in the title, some of these tips can be applied to other writing projects. http://tinyurl.com/4j2hm9 . So check it out and let me know what you think about it. In the meantime and in between time, I’ll leave you with this Chris Brogan video…“Don’t Be That Guy”:

Teen Entrepreneur Daniel Brusilovsky is the 15 year old CEO and Founder of Teens in Tech. It is a community that helps teens who are interested in blogging, podcasting and leveraging new social media. In my famous words of “Problems Equal Opportunities”, Daniel said the reason that he started his company was because he was running into challenges not able to find a good hosting company and also he knows that some teens had restrictions on registering for accounts because of their age. So in his community that would’t be an issue because it was created by teens for teens.

Hoppin and a-boppin and a-singin her song. All the little birds on jaybird street love to hear the robin go tweet, tweet, tweet. Indeed that is the tao of twitter :) !

I have seen a tons of great ideas and such about the benefits of using twitter from a branding and professional standpoint, but I came across a great resource intensive timely, yet timeless post (published Nov 2007) on Prof Julie’s site “From My Pocket” . It provides the the business value adds of Twitter along with a pretty comprehensive list of applications & plugins for both desktop and mobile handheld users who tweet: http://twurl.nl/55qdr0

Still don’t quite ‘get it’? Then check out this simple non-technical ‘artistic’ ;-) video from Common Craft:
