Created by the Renegade CEO’s own Dallas, TX based Marshall Haas, the LimitlessVC BizBreak Contest (@BizBreak on Twitter) has launched and is in full motion. BizBreak is giving 1 remarkable entrepreneur 50% of the BizBreak app profits + $3,000! And what’s different about this VC fund is you DO NOT have to pay the money back. If that alone has motivated you to apply for the contest and you don’t like reading small print and just want to cut to the chase – Enter here: http://bit.ly/bizbreak
Otherwise keep reading and watch Whitney’s video
So why is it a Minimum of $3,000? Well because you determine the jackpot. The amount of money increases in the Limitless VC fund based on each purchase of the controversial (but entertaining) iphone app BizBreak . In the BizBreak app you score points every time you land a punch on your demeaning smart mouth boss…I know, I know…it’s a bit of dark humor. Ask @marshallhaas (on Twitter) how many times the app was censored and rejected before it finally got approved.
Also, I promised Renegade CEO Whitney Washington, CEO, of Puzzle Piece Promotions, I would post her video that she created for the contest. She is a very talented self-taught videographer based in FL. She is currently enrolled in her first year at Full Sail University (FL) where she is getting formal training in video production, typography etc. Excellent piece Whitney! Great job on your video and good luck with the contest!
Whitney’s famous saying is: Stop trying to find yourself….Create Yourself! See her creative expression below:

Self-Proclaimed Internet Business King, 20 year old David King, @DavidBeKing on Twitter has announced a contest to promote the release of his new traffic building system, Traffic on Demand, TOD. To promote his new product launch he is giving away 3 copies of the full version of his Traffic on Demand System. To enter the contest you need to answer 2 questions in the comments section of his blog (see the blog post for the questions) and share the contest on your blog, Twitter, Facebook and/or preferred social network. Hence why I am writing this blog post. If I didn’t love this kid and chat with him all the time on Twitter, I would not be going through all these changes Having worked with him in his teen years (he turned 20 this summer) and knowing all the support and advice he gives to many of the teens in the Renegades network I would certainly support him regardless of whether or not a contest was being offered.
He is looking for any type of promotional support for his program. Bonus points if you create a video in You Tube. I would definitely like to see one or more of my teen Renegade CEO’s win a copy of the Traffic On Demand System. For those interested in the contest you can check out the details on his blog (http://retwt.me/jvqu)
Regardless if you decide to enter the contest, you should definitely connect with him on Twitter @DavidBeKing
Good luck to everyone who participates in the contest. And be sure to let us know if you win so that we can feature you on the Renegades blog, which is now ranked in the Top 300k in the U.S. Whooop! As always, appreciate your continued support.

Teen Renegade CEO Patricio Quezada, 18, CEO of Hispanics Learn is going to be featured on an upcoming segment of CNN (in the next week). We will share the link with you as soon as the story airs. The story will air on CNN plus all its affiliates and on the web. This kind of exposure, which is free and will be in millions of homes across the globe is priceless.
The Renegade CEO’s are becoming the go to place for the hottest teen and young entrepreneurs. So make sure you are connected with us because for the past few stories we have had requests for multiple teen entrepreneurs in certain geographic regions or industries. So you never know when we are going to be seeking you out.
The CNN Producer reached out to me for leads and had considered several teen CEO’s for the story. Three days full of anxiety and anticipation would pass before I asked my teens if any of them heard anything back. Patricio non chalantly says to me ‘oh yea, she been called me back and finalized a date for me to come to the studio.’ !!!Teenagers!!!…Go figure, lol! Luckily, we have long been ‘READY’, hence, after creating a few marketing promos special to this media feature and some interview coaching, we were able to flow with the energy and bask in the magical experience of the day.
If you want a logo for your business and you reach out to one of the best design agencies in your city, what would your reaction be when you get to know, that only a logo would cost you $1000? There are people who get shocked after knowing the prices and instantly think of getting the logo designed by a freelancer who would get the job done in mere $10. They don’t even realize that going to a cheap logo designer might be a complete waste of money and time.
I agree that there are both small and large scale companies, who want to have a strong identity for themselves. However, not all of them have the budget to approach the top logo design agencies to create their logos and that’s the reason they question, why are these top agencies so costly?
Being that we have 3 (Teen) Renegade CEO’s who finished writing their book this month and will be publishing and releasing them in May on Amazon.com we decided it would be a great time to feature Wendy Burt-Thomas who writes for a living and is currently preparing for yet another book tour to promote her 3rd book coming out in January 2009. (Note: After reading the innerview if you have any questions for Wendy please leave them in the comments section or contact her through the blog listed in the innerview and she will respond to them.)
Today we have a Q & A with Wendy Burt-Thomas. She is a full-time freelance writer, editor and copywriter with more than 1,000 published pieces. Her third book, “The Writer’s Digest Guide to Query Letters” hit stores in January 2009. To learn more about Wendy or her three books, visit www.GuideToQueryLetters.com. If you have a writing-related question, you can also post it on http://AskWendy.wordpress.com.
1. Q: Can you tell us about your book?
The book was a great fit for me because I’d been teaching “Breaking Into Freelance Writing” for about eight years. In the workshop, I covered a lot of what is in this book: writing query letters to get articles in magazines, to land an agent, or to get a book deal with a publisher. Since I’m a full-time freelance magazine writer and editor with two previous books, this was incredibly fun to write because it didn’t require tons of research. I was lucky enough to receive lots of great sample query letters from writers and authors that I use as “good” examples in the book. I wrote all the “bad” examples myself because I didn’t dare ask for contributions that I knew I’d be ripping apart!
In addition to the ins and outs of what makes a good query, the book covers things like why (or why not) to get an agent, where to find one and how to choose one; writing a synopsis or proposal; selling different rights to your work; other forms of correspondence; and what editors and agents look for in new writers.
It was really important to me that the book not be a dry, boring reference book, but rather an entertaining read (while still being chock full of information). I was thrilled that Writer’s Digest let me keep all the humor.
It’s a New Year, whew hew! Out with the OLD and in with the YOU! Huh, huh, “you teen CEO know it alls” is that what it’s all about in the year of change? I am sooo going to be more sensitive and compassionate this year [brouhaha, evil grin > ].
Let me be the first to remind you that I strongly and truly believe that teens don’t need to be helped but they want to be empowered. The teens I have worked with didn’t need for me to hold their hand. They just wanted me to show them how to leverage resources (people, places and things) so they could get their wee bitty little but very awesome & powerful idea branded and marketed to people who would LOVE IT and help it grow bigger!
I cold-call and market several days a week. I do it to help create media exposure, speaking and business opportunities for the teens who seek me out for help. I would say I am generally successful with this. And the reason why is because it’s much easier and less stressful to get your name out there and people on board when you are building on something you already have established and in motion.
Back in November 2008 in the Washington Post (online edition) I read a story (courtesy of Tech Crunch) about Teen Entrpreneur & Blogger Jessica Mah (and her colleagues Arielle and Andy) who launched their company which is a website community called InternshipIN. Their site matches students to Internship opportunities with start up companies. While Jessica states that there are a host of other internship companies their niche is that they are focusing on those start up companies who want to connect with university students (where larger companies tend to currently dominate that space).
Also worth noting is that her start-up costs for the business including the prototype and build out of the website totaled 500 bucks!! And being that I read about them in the Washington Post it means someone also figured out a way to get some great media exposure.
Well here we are, not even 3 months later and today on her fellow Teen CEO’s Daniel Brusilovsky’s blog is a post about Jessica participating in his upcoming Teens in Tech Conference January 31, 2008 in San Francisco, CA. She will be one of the featured speakers. How is that for kicking butt out the gate? Just 3 months into really getting the business going and she is already out there on the speaking circuit. Talk about dreaming and doing! That is what it is ALL about (and also the premise behind my next blog post).
