I am not talking about Russell Simmons, I am talking about the other guy in the red shirt (on the front of the video screen shot at end of this post). Well you may not know him, but the funny thing is I do. His name is Daniel Uribe and he is the co-founder of Lazer Bearings with John Brzezicki. Note to Self: Daniel currently serves as the National Spokesperson for the Renegade CEO’s. [after you watch the video you will see his classic line and why he IS the most awesome National Spokesperson ever].  He knows its about the energy, having fun and being different (in the way you think and carry yourself). Anyway, I was browsing the web today for something completely unrelated when I came across this video in which he is leaning back on the front of it (in the red shirt, and most likely the only one that is still in his teens). So I just started cracking up to myself before I even pressed play. The coolest thing ever is the video was on the home page for The Race to BE which is a joint creative project between media mogul and multimillionaire Russell Simmons and the Kauffman Foundation which does alot of advocacy work for entrepreneurship and young entrepreneurs. Hence why Russell Simmons does the intro. The video recaps the film competition for Global Entrepreneurship Week where Daniel was one of five national finalists in the film competition (don’t ask, long story ). But just goes to show you- you just never know where a Renegade CEO is going to be or show up and how they may eventually inspire & impact the world (after the fact, lol). So make sure whenever you are out and about you are tearing down the walls and not being a wall flower because you never know who’s watching…or filming [big smile].

Young Entrepreneur and Teen CEO Daniel Uribe of Lazer Bearings has been selected as a finalist for Russell Simmons “Race to Be” Film Competition. The film competion will be held in none other than Los Angeles, CA and will feature the top young filmmakers ages 18-29 from all over the U.S.  As Daniel is one of the younger contestants, the Renegade CEO’s are really jazzed about him getting this far in the competition and reppin’ all the young and teen entrepreneurs out there. Daniel is working hard now to tweak his pitch for his film & business concept which he has to present to Sony Studios.  Holy Moly! I would definitely be nervous!!

Even though it seems that Daniel has a gazillion awards and media features under his belt, just like always, he has cold feet but at the same time is absolutely escstatic (as if it was his first time ever presenting). We are all supporting him however we best can and know that even if he doesn’t bring back what he might be initially hoping for…with the right mindset and attitude he is sure to bring back something FAAAAR better

To break the monotony of the work day, John and Daniel pay a visit to their local Sports Authority for a little fun and games (please do not try this at home kids).

Lazer Bearings launched their new ad campaign and slogan today- “Roll Faster” . I know they say that silicone ceramic nitride bearings are faster than just any ol’ bearings, but you know….just got me thinking

Teen Entrepreneur and Renegades National Spokesperson, Daniel Uribe of Lazer Bearing, takes 2nd place at the NFTE Advanced Entrepreneurship Competition. Along with the award he also won $3,000 to add to his steadily growing seed money. This makes award #5 this year (3 National, 1 Global, 1 Regional) won by our Renegade CEO’s. Whew Hew….We’ll take it! Folks can’t hang with my ‘bad boys’. Forget about it. They are over the top.

They scripted, filmed, edited and produced it…Pretty darn good for a cram course self-taught video class from Current TV, one handheld HD (high definition) Sony camera and DIY editing on Apple imovie ‘08, huh?
