The NFTE Movie, Ten Nine Eight Shoot For the Moon officially opens in select AMC theaters on November 13, 2009. However, on November 12, 2009 there will be a special FREE screening for teachers and their students (classroom). NFTE (pronounced nifty), formerly the National Foundation for Teaching Entrepreneurship is now the Network Foundation For Teaching Entrepreneurship.  They are an international non profit organization headquartered in New York City. I have been a loyal and committed volunteer for the Washington, DC office since 2005 where I have had the pleasure of working with the wonderful Verice White, Julie Silard-Kantor, Kate Palmer and a host of other great people who have worked there throughout the years. I have also traveled to NYC several times to attend their gala and annual fundraiser. In fact, at the last Gala I attended in NYC I purchased some homemade all natural cucumber melon hand lotion from the young man featured on the freeze frame in the video trailer below. What are the chances? :)

The NFTE Movie, produced by award winning filmmaker Mary Mazzio ”chronicles the inspirational stories of several teens from low-income communities from Harlem to Compton and all points in between as they compete in a business plan competition run by NFTE”. Big shout out to Rahfeal Gordon, Evelyn Espinoza and Amanda Loyola, three of the NFTE students featured in the film that I have personally had the opportunity to connect and collaborate with.

NFTE’s mission is to provide a pathway to prosperity to teens in economically challenged communities through their specially branded curriculum offered in middle and high schools in the U.S. and abroad.

Share your love and show your support by checking out a screening in your hometown!
