Benjamin Lang is a 15 year old tri-lingual high school sophomore and small business owner who is currently lives in New York. This year he returned from what he calls the best year of his life in Raanana, Israel. He started an eBay business when his family returned to the U.S. His business like most came about in an accidental way. Ben was just doing his daily routine, like teens tend to do, and after he made some money trying to help a family member out he didn’t defer or question his entrepeneurial AHA moment. He thought to himself- this could be a business that generates revenue and so he created it. He then began to realize that everything and everything around him was a tool to his success and not an obstacle to it. As a result, in just a short time in business, Ben has grossed several thousand dollars in revenue and is now dabbling in other creative ventures such as web design and teen business coaching. Ben’s business is growing and he is marketing so much that he also managed to get featured on his local news. Peep his TV spot below and check out his interview.
Ben, thanks for sharing your Infinite Expedition. Wishing you continued success in your entrepreneurial endeavors.
For those of you who are on Twitter, here is a great list of high profile Tweeps (people who Twitter) who often will follow you back. I recognize quite a lot of the names and they are pretty interactive with their lists. Congrats to Teen CEO @StanleyTang who made the list with over 20k followers. Insanely cool
Here’s the article: http://socialnewswatch.com/top-twitter-users/
I have done several posts on what Twitter is…but here’s the quick and dirty- it is an online marketing tool that pacificies the voyeuristic nature of people. It’s a massively huge public timeline where everyone basically answers the same question “What Are You Doing?” (in 140 characters or less). It’s hard to explain until you start doing it… Dan Hollings has a great Squidoo Lens if you want to read through quickly and see all his tips and tricks. It’s a tremendous resource http://www.squidoo.com/twittinsecrets
And also a great resource for intro to ‘marketing online with Twitter’: A twitter exercise & challenge for Teen (Entrepreneurs)

Routinely, across the globe, teenagers are brainstorming radical business ideas and niche businesses. The 365 Infinite Expedition (www.infiniteexpedition.com) will bring these innnovative thinkers’ ideas and stories to the attention of the public. The 365 Infinite Expedition is centered around the new book by the same title and the accompanying web site that will take online submissions. Both are a follow up to the succesful Book “Teen Entrepreneur Success Secrets” (www.teenceobook.com) and this blog.
Shonika Proctor, creator of 365 Infinite Expedition says to these teens: “It is the very people who tell you to break the walls around you that are the ones who built them. The only walls to break are the ones within you…and then YOUR Infinite Expedition will begin…”
Every now and again we have a blog commercial break just to break the heavy reflection work stuff. So I came across this video today courtesy of www.deanhunt.com You can follow him on Twitter @deanhunt He always sends out lots of good and funny stuff.
Having a younger brother who is the ultimate prankster I have to say that after watching this video it is the same for sisters and brothers! Enjoy! :D
Today Mike Michalowicz, the Toilet Paper Entrepreneur did a video blog post on how to manage (focus) your time as a bootstrapping entrepreneur. Here is a link to the video post: http://bit.ly/COeK1
If you don’t know Mike, you should. He is a really funny guy, brings a lot of value to the business community and he has some incredible tips on how you can bootstrap your way to the top. Want to be featured on his blog (over 40k visitors a month)? There are a few ways:
1. Are you a CEO under the age of 30? If so, you can be featured on his site where he does a little online mini interview with you. If you click on the contact form and send me a message saying you want to be on TPE I can help you with that process.
2. For everybody and anybody else: Send Mike a really clever question via video and you could be featured in his vlog. I want to see you there so send in your question. It could definitely bring good traffic to your website or blog so make sure its current before you send your question!
One of our very own teen CEO’s Danielle Herb of Natural Horsemanship is in the news today. She is on the front page of news station of WCTV (Florida). Here is the clip:
Danielle’s niche business is Natural Horsemanship. She uses horses and equine assisted training techniques to help ADD/ADHD and autistic children to overcome their illnesses naturally without the use of prescription medication. Pretty awesome business concept, huh? Recently after attending Yanik Silver’s Underground Online Seminar (memba’ that….I adopted Danielle days before the event ;-)) we went to Fuddruckers after the day’s conference. There, Danielle, Patricio (www.hispanicslearn.com), Marianne (www.lifeisaplayground.com), Chris (www.networkology.com) and myself started brainstorming for like 3 hours over free refills
I was on a mission to come up with a name for Danielle’s book (you know me and my obsession with names and titles and branding). So I heard Danielle telling a story about an experience with one of her kids in the program and that sparked “Dropping the Reins”: Peaceful Transformation Techniques for ADD/ADHD & Autistic Children Using Natural Horsemanship (the book) and ‘Drop the Reins”: Learn to Trust (which Danielle came up with for the home study course). We also masterminded our latest creative venture ’Roughly Famous’….another day, another post!
So look out for some more great stories on Danielle Herb of Natural Horsemanship www.danielleherb.com because she is going to be rockin’ the news. And here is the clip again: http://budurl.com/yqe8
And what about you? What unique or interesting business are you doing or what important announcement do you have to make about your business? If you are between the ages of 13-19 don’t forget to write me through the contact form on this page and let me know. I want to get your story out there and maybe, just maybe your local TV, newspaper or radio station may pick your story up or you might even get more clients. You’ll never know if you don’t try.
Congratulations! Today is your day. You’re off to great places. You’re off and away. – Dr. Seuss
One of my favorite books of all time is “Oh the Places You’ll Go”. And I also love the works of Dr. Seuss because it’s amazing how you could read one of his books as a child and 20 years later it seems even more relevant!
Ask a few Renegade CEO’s or folks who have heard me speak and they will tell you that they were quite surprised when I busted out my Oh The Places You’ll Go book and read a passage during my presentation/speech. The reason why is back in 2005 when I was at crossroads between working for myself or someone else I somehow came across that book and it inspired my genius business idea ;-) That book without a doubt put me on my entrepreneurial path and it is why my ‘dialogue’ and company is so free spirited. Indeed if you let it…..The Seuss Will Set You Free too!
So what is your favorite Dr. Seuss book?
