Mark Victor Hansen who is co-author of the Chicken Soup for the Soul Series and founder of the Mark Victor Hansen Foundation has recently announced the Young Entrepreneurial Challenge. The contest is open to teen entrepreneurs ages 13 or 19 regardless if you have an operational (existing) business or simply a great idea for one….translation you are welcome to compete whether you currently own a business or are just thinking about starting one.
The awards will be given out based on those two categories (new business idea or existing business) and the following three sub-categories:
Enlightened Technologies—innovative products that define a segment of a new market, or transform an existing one;
Positive Social Impact—creating a business that would affect the environment positively, promote peace, decrease poverty or promote social justice;
Global Market Potential—a business best suited to global markets.
You can’t win if you don’t enter, so be sure to submit your application no later than December 15, 2008.
For additional details about the contest see: http://www.markvictorhansenfoundation.org/en/yec.cfm
Or if you are ready to fill out your electronic application: https://app.markvictorhansenfoundation.org/
Winners will be announced January 1, 2009…wouldn’t that be an awesome New Year’s Gift?! And the formal awards presentation will take place at the Soul Motion Ball Rockin’ the Universe Gala on January 31, 2008 at a TBD venue in Southern California.
Good Luck to All!

I know the author I have several books on chicken soup for the soul. Such entrepreneurial challenges direct the competitors to a good cause (i.e, mentioned alleviate poverty, positive environmental affect, etc.). Good work!
Check out the YES movie at http://www.TheYESmovie.com. Stories of successful young entrepreneurs as told by Louis Lautman.

Hi Mego,
Thank you for your comments. And Yes! I know Louis Lautman and the YES movie. I am very excited for it to come out.
My friend and ‘working angel’ Mike Michalowicz, The Toilet Paper Entrepreneur, http://www.toiletpaperentrepreneur.com is also featured in the movie.
Good stuff.
